Student statements

Vladimír

A graduate from the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Comenius University in Bratislava, currently an assistant to the foreman on the Batizovce site. And how he came to the Inžinierske stavby, a.s. company? “After graduating from the university I was considering whether to stay in Bratislava or return to Košice. I come from Slanec, so a job close to my home place suited me better. Moreover, my aunt used to work for this company. I was “attracted” to the site from the very beginning. I would not enjoy sitting in an office. And there is always something that needs to be done. I was also kind of concerned about how older colleagues would react when such a greenhorn, as I am, says something to them. So far I have only discovered that the difference between a student and working life is really big.”

Colleagues Slávka and Iveta:

Slávka– a graduate from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Technical University in Košice, currently an assistant to a site manager: „My colleagues, who graduated a year before and work for Inžinierske stavby, told me about the possibility to work for this company. I filed an application, took part in the selection procedure, and I got hired.”

Iveta – a graduate from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Technical University in Košice: „ I was recruited while still in school, during a presentation for our graduates concerning the positions the company offered that year. I was not interested in anything in particular until my state exams took place and then I started to think about what to do. I had an opportunity to work for smaller companies, but I have made the right decision. “

Both: We want to know how motorways are built. When we started we saw only woods, now we can see there visible traces left by our people. Suddenly, we have a much better overview of everything, it is completely different than school. Maybe we will have no other opportunity to see how, step by step, a motorway is built... We want to put on overalls, rubber boots and learn about everything. It is really interesting.

Peter

A graduate from the Faculty of Economics, Technical University in Košice: I could have had a job with a bank, but this work is more interesting. The important thing is to become a part of the team and learn from older colleagues. “

Iveta

A graduate from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Technical University in Košice, Preparation Department of the Technical division, Plant 02:  „After graduating from the Faculty of Civil Engineering I wanted to stay in Košice. Already during my first interview I recalled that I had always wanted to go to a building site and finally see in practice what we had learned in school. I feel very comfortable in my job, I have found many nice people here. “

Lucia

A graduate form the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Technical University in Košice, Technical Department, Plant 03: „ I like it here and first of all, I want to get some practical experience and learn something new. I am really looking forward to being on the site and I am not afraid even though people say that this is a men’s thing. Perhaps they will take care of me, as a woman, and they will not be rude to me.”

Kinga

A graduate from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Technical University in Košice, Evaluation Tools Department: „I have a lot of work and it is very interesting. I still do not have the slightest idea what is awaiting me, I familiarize myself with the atmosphere and the young team that I really like. “

Robert

A graduate from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Technical University in Košice, Technical Department: „ So far, I have been working at the Technical Department. I have not observed any more significant positive or negative things during this short time. For me promotion is motivating and the fact that I keep on improving. Inžinierske stavby is a big company in all respects; it is up to the individual what he or she will do with it.”
